Nestled in the courtyard of Patio Dom Fradique, near Lisbon’s iconic Castelo Sao Jorge, Grenache is the perfect assemblage of old and new. At grenache every plate is crafted keeping in mind that tradition and modernity are to be paired rather than opposed.
The mission is to bring to you modern French cuisine with adherence to age old techniques and paying homage to local Portuguese produce.
Hailing from Avignon in the south of France, Chef Philippe Gelfi began his career at the early age of 15. Soon he was to have the privilege of working with Avignons’ most renowned Chef Christian Etienne at his 1 Star Michelin ‘Restaurant Christian Etienne’. It was not long before he moved to Paris as the Executive Chef of restaurant ‘ Pierre Sang in Gambey’. Thereafter he worked at the two starred Michelin -Le Gabriel with Chef Jérôme Banctel at Paris’ exquisite Hotel la reserve.
